Cheltenham and District Carers and Families is a family support group for parents/carers who are caring for a child or young person with additional needs in Cheltenham & surrounding areas.
These needs can range from physical, mental or multiple handicaps to developmental delay. Although these all have different challenges, carers and parents all admit to feeling lonely in their role.
Here at CADCAF we provide enjoyable and suitable opportunities for families to meet up and share life enhancing experiences whilst supporting each other and making new friends on a sometimes difficult and lonely journey. Most of our activites are during school holidays
We started in 1990 and in the last 19 years we have grown in membership and in what we offer. Our members tend to stay in touch even after they no longer need us as much.
- To provide support for the whole family.
- To enable parents and carers to share information and offer mutual support
- To enable our children and young people to achieve their highest potential, by giving them support and encouragement. We provide them with the opportunity to gain self-confidence and develop both their practical and social skills.
- To create a network of friends and have fun!
To join in with our activities, you will need to join us as we run a membership which is only £2 per month.

We understand that you may want to be absolutely sure that this group is for you, so we encourage you to pop along to see us before committing to being a part of the fun.
Each school holiday, an activities schedule is available and there is bound to be something that tempts you come and join in.
We always try to organise a special pamper session for Mothering Sunday and offer a much needed pre-Christmas pamper night that is open to everyone.
Meet the Team
CADCAF is a charity run by volunteers
The CADCAF office is based at The Battledown Children’s Centre and we answer emails and the telephone between the hours of 9.00am-1.00pm Monday to Friday.
Please remember CADCAF trustees are volunteers and are not responsible for looking after any children at CADCAF events. This is the parents/carers responsibility.
